SSDP

SSDP (Simple Service Discovery Protocol) is the discovery protocol of UPnP. It is supported on Windows out of the box: the board is shown in the Network section of the file explorer, and a double click opens the web interface.

It needs SSDP_FEATURE, MDNS_FEATURE and HTTP_FEATURE in configuration.h. SSDP is only started in station mode (WiFi client or Ethernet) when the HTTP server is running, not in access point mode.

To find your board from a computer, see SSDP Discovery.

Its state is reported by [ESP420] as SSDP (ESP32 only) with the IP address used, and by mDNS as ssdp TXT record, see mDNS.

The board answers the SSDP search requests as upnp:rootdevice, and the device description is available at http://(board ip)/description.xml.
